I always carry a good selection of mixed sizes of split shot. I generally use the smaller size 8 - size 1 when fishing in rock pools where there’s no tidal flow and the waters generally shallow and use the larger sizes when fishing in deeper water that has more tidal flow. The great thing with using shot is that you can increase or decrease weight easily.
One important item that I always carry is a small pair of forceps. These are key to un-hooking any fish that has swallowed the hook beyond finger reach. Especially important when using a jig head as obviously you wouldn’t be able to use a normal disgorger.
Another important un-hooking aid is a discorger. I always go for a plastic variety just in case I drop it in, you’ve then got a slight chance of retrieving it. It’s also handy to carry a large and small one depending on what size hook you are using.
I’ve recently started making several different rigs up at home and putting them onto a rig winder. Simply tie a swivel onto one end of the rig and use a small lure clip on your main line then it’s easy to just swap rigs over if you want to.
